The Knights of Columbus is a fraternal organization of Catholic men, 18 years of age or older, committed to helping their community while supporting their parish.
On December 13, 1953, the Supreme Council of the Knights of Columbus chartered council 3761, which consisted of men from St. Joseph Parish in Homewood and St Anne Parish in Hazel Crest and others from the surrounding area. As 1953 was designated by the Catholic Church as a Marian Year, the members, as a tribute to Our Lady, chose the name Marian Council.
Marian Council currently serves St. John Neumann (Homewood, Hazel Crest, Country Club Hills), St Veronica (Flossmoor, Park Forest, Matteson), and the surrounding area. Members who are Fourth Degree Sir Knights are part of the Samuel Cardinal Stritch Assembly #205.
