Farewell, Good Knight
It is with a combination of sadness and pride that we announce the transition of Robert (Bob) Major from this life to the next.
We are sad that Bob is no longer with us.
We take pride in knowing that such an illustrious individual was once in our midst.
Bob left quite a legacy. He held many offices in Marian Council as well as Stritch Assembly: PFN of Stritch Assembly, Past Commander for Stritch Assembly, Current Trustee for Stritch Assembly, PGK of Marian Council, Current Trustee of Marian Council.
Bob was always busy with many projects including: Chairman for Toys for Tots, Co-chairman of the ID Drive, Raffle Chairman, Haiti mission Volunteer, Fish Fry Volunteer, Co-chairman of Clergy Night.
Though Bob was extremely busy, he was always approachable to offer mentoring or another form of assistance, knowing that there was ‘always more than one fish to fry’.
It could be thought that Bob had more hands than a centipede has legs, since he was always willing to lend a hand when requested.
If wearing an apron is acceptable fashion in heaven, when our time comes, we may recognize him as the smiling man behind the apron.
When it was time for Bob’s transition, God gave him ‘that look’.
‘It is time to come to heaven, Bob. I can use another cook.’
